NHL 11: Drop-in Games are the Savior of Online Play
Posted on September 20, 2010 at 12:09 PM.
EA made it really hard to play against friends in this years OTP and also non-existent in HUT. So the only saving grace we have for playing online against friends in a team format is the drop-in game feature. Oh, what a feature it is. Not only can you experience full 6 on 6 or 5 on 5 competitive games, not only can you actually accumulate stats for your online Be-A-Pro guy, but the most important thing about drop-in games is that you can play with or against a group of friends all by simply pressing that magic Drop-In Game option on the count of three at the same time. This enables you to usually find a match where you can all participate. It might take a few times and it may be harder to do if you have six guys who want to play. But with three or four guys, getting into a match should be no problem. Since EA geared the scoring towards rewarding those who play with a full team, it is no longer a frustrating endeavor trying to build your player up. So for this feature EA, I say thank you.

Couldn't you just go to community and go to online team play, tell everyone to go into the same lobby, and then simply all of you select the same game session? I find that easy enough with my friends when we're not club gaming...

Yes, but I don't think your stats accumulate.
